Adicolor 2005
Capitalising on the trend-du-jour for product design collaborations, adidas reissued the 1980’s adicolor concept (itself an original encouragement for consumers to ‘personalise’ their footwear) with a huge list of International designers & musicians. The brief focused on the equal importance of printed and 3D elements, and respect needed to be paid to the collaborative partners. Working with Bibliotheque, JJMarshall’ took a pop approach to the project working with the 7 key product colours and creating a clean, playful context for the footwear presentation (with photography by Richard Learoyd). Installations were created for Dover Street Market and adidas Newburgh St, with other retail partners receiving the medical-style lightboxes to highlight instore presence.
